No problem. Just give it some time, I am sure someone will comment on it!

If I knew more about Morgans, I would say more than I have!

I'm no Morgan expert, But I would say MS-62. What makes you think it is a VAM? I don't see any die breaks or anything else unusual?

I'm a little undecided about this coin, while there are signs of a weak strike as noted on New Orleans mint coin. I see some evidence of some light circulation wear, the dark staining detracts a little from the overall appearance also. I'm going to say AU-55.

i might add that this coin has been in a 2x2, or 4x4 which ever, flip sicne it was handed down. I just broke it open to take this pic. \i dont know if that changes things.

not all VAM's have die cracks or breaks, from the date placement your coin appears to be a Near Slanted Date, it should also be noted that the early years of 1900-1904 many had doubling of the profile which is something you might see, but I can't from the photo's..The near slanted date listings, is where I would begin checking out narrow the VAM down,
As for condition, I think the AU range and the black spots take away some of the eye appeal....

the VAM listings can be found at VAMWORLD.com look to the left middle of the screen and choose Morgan Vams by date. pick your year and mint mark, and all the know VAM's will appear, look them over to get an Idea of what could be found on your coin, then inspect your coin and see what you can find...As for the pictures, yours are great PM me and let me know how you get a nice size pic and then it blows even bigger,,,the Pictures I am referring to would be very close up examples of things you find so others here might assist you in determining what you might have......
