Hi All. Went to a Pawn shop a few hours away and he had some junk silver So I bought me 60 dollars worth but I paid 9.00 for this quarter. I have not dove into this area yet and would love some help on a grade Just want to know what I should look for if I ever get a good chance to learn on them. Thanks All. Thank you.

The motto has nothing to do with grease in the dies, it is a normal part of the design. All 1932s are of the Light Motto variety and the first 1934Ps minted had the Light Motto variety as well, this one brings a premium. 1934 actually had three different hub designs- the Light Motto, Medium Motto, and Heavy Motto with the latter two being considered common.

As for grade, I would call it VF-35

Nice coin! I would have bought it too. Looks like a VF35 or EF40. The mushy motto is not uncommon in the early dates. Hair line on forehead looks intact and high spots in hair around ear not worn too badly at all. Mint lustre will boost it to EF, can't tell by the photo. nlp
