Given these by a co-worker today.

Pair-Of-English-Shillings-1963-And-1948

I know that neither are silver.

The 1948 is interesting since it is the last one to have IND IMP on it since this was removed in 1949 on India becoming an independant republic.

Do feel I should give my co-worker payment in return. Any idea of the value of these coins?

Thanks,
Ken

Until 1991 and the introduction of the smaller sized coins, these still circulated for 5p. Neither of them are worth too much more than that at the moment.

These coins are very hard to come by in decent UNC condition, specially the 1948. (still looknig for one). However, they're very common in circulated grades. You could buy a coffee to your co-worker, as a way of saying thanks, and you are glad you have such cool co-workers, all I have here are a bunch of ... well, whatsoever, they don't worth more than 5p n circulated rgades, as Sap suggested. However, please let me know Ken if you are up to UK Pre-decimal which I think is one of the best areas of collecting.
