We don't collect coins at all but while bored at work this one caught my eye...it doesn't appear to have been worn away or manually removed..at least I don't think...it almost looks like the very top of a 3 as the last number. I have no idea about these things and hoped someone here can offer some help. Any Ideas?

Thanks

It's a Struck Through Grease error. The die becomes filled with grease and covers up many devices so they won't strike up well or at all. A very common error unless it blocks most of the design.

Thanks for the quick reply. Looking closer I see now that the L I and B are almost gone as well. Any value at all?

Thanks again for the comments...The bad thing is..well good thing...I see what you guys and gals do this for. The hunt is both fun and frustrating. My kids and I are now searching and looking at every coin we have..including about $200 of rolled pennies that have been in the garage for ever..lol

Maybe I found another hobby to add.
