"The Northern Territory Police major fraud unit is investigating the use of about $15,000 euros in counterfeit notes at several Darwin banks.

Police say the fake 100 euro and 50 euro bills were found on Monday.

The offenders swapped the fraudulent notes for Australian dollars.

Police are seeking two Eastern European men in relation to the matter.

They are believed to have been in Darwin since the middle of January and police are seeking information regarding their activities during this period."

any Australians who read this will wonder, like me, why local Police are wasting their time on what is a matter for AFP.
