I am very much into searching/locating coins and currency, for that reason I use the forums own auction sites to search out some coinage and such.
I have spent literally thousands of dollars on this site and over all am very pleased.

I also met some very nice, kind everyday folks and enjoy the entire process.
I once in a while have a problem, lately I have been bidding on
Morgan silver dollars, with one seller in the active auctions arena.I over the last week have placed a dozen bids and won most, which makes me happy, until last night there were bids ending at 9pm, 9:05 pm, and 9:10 pm.
I placed my bids a few moments before the auctions ended, I mean a few seconds before, I wanted these coins, like some others, but the others, who bid earlier, were no where to be found, but this "other bidder" was bidding also.
I was trying to win these 3-coins so as I said I placed my bids seconds before the posted auctions ended, after the auctions ended I noticed another person, the "other bidder" placed bids on each of these auctions, well after the auctions ended(I know how much after because I bid seconds before they ended) to my surprise he entered his bids before the next minute was up and he came up as the winner,on the auction board in 2 out of the 3 auctions.
I was very put off and realized this was a reality, he did this past the ending time, and the posted time for him was that minute the auction ended. What I mean is that if you place a bid at 9:00 and 25 seconds, the clock comes up that the bid was placed at 9:00, it does not account for the seconds, in this case many, many seconds. In one instance, the "other bidder" saw my bid, mind you a few seconds before the auction ended I bid, and he bid just a little more than I, now how does that happen!!
I wrote to the forum MOM and DAD and expressed my concerns and hope things will work out, in the meantime I received a PM from the seller who told me he did not think the "other bidder made it in time" and he wrote to the forum DAD for an official ruling, and that he could not do anything till he heard from the forum DAD.
He knew the "other bidder" did not make it and he did not know what to do?

I will await what I hope everyone will see to be the truth about what I am saying, this can not be acceptable.
I checked the rules about the auctions and found nothing about the time in which the bids must be in, I can not imagine, people being allowed to place bids well past the posted time, but before the next minute, and people who posted before or just at the time posted do not win, I do not know the ruling as of this letter, but to all who do bid, from my E-Bay experiences, last few seconds count, not past the ticking clock though, that is the difference between E-Bay and this forum, on the Bay the clock stops and ALL see who won, here, the clock keeps ticking and some people will try anything to achieve personal gains.

I am awaiting the official answer on this topic, but have an idea for the active auction site, so this topic never rears its ugly, slippery head again, why not place a second hand time in the winners box stating exactly what time the bid was placed and in this way, never again would anyone place a bid after the posted ending time and have any question as to just who won the auction.

Be well to all, Mike...
