Any collecters here know of any good coin dealers in the East bay, or penninsula area? I think I'm at the point now where I'm ready to develop a good relationship with a dealer, or two.

I went into a coinshop in Burlingame the other day, I think it was called "Ms. Z's", and the fellow behind the counter was very indifferent to me. I tried making smalltalk with him, from very general collecting questions, to more specific, and he always gave curt, short, closed responses. If he were busy, I'd understand, but he was just reading a magazine.

I am a very interested collector with a good amount of money to invest, but I'm looking for a dealer who will treat me with honest dignity and respect, while looking out for my best interests. I want someone I can chat with about coins, someone who can answer my questions, and help me find what I'm looking for.

So, if anyone in the 510, 925, 415 area codes know of a good coin-shop, I'd love to hear of it.

I would suggest attending a couple of shows in your area. You should be able to meet up with dealers there and I'm sure that any local dealers would be there. You could also inquire as to whether there are any coin clubs in your area. Often, coin clubs also have sales and trades.
