There is no such thing as natural AND quick, else it will be called artifical toning.

You will need some sulfur. Perhaps putting it in a YELLOW envelop under constant sunlight might help, as of what I have heard from others.

1) Yellow envelope in the sun (weeks) 2) On a block of oak in the sun (weeks) 3) Bake it in a potato (minutes) 4) In a bowl of crushed match heads (hours)
There are many ways to artificially tone a coin. All of those ways will get you ousted from any self-respecting group of coin collectors, if you should ever attempt to present such a coin as "naturally" toned. I don't think you should be stopped from learning about artificial toning. Try it, with a coin you don't ever intend to sell. Play for a while. Just don't represent the result as anything but an artificially toned coin.

I want to tell you laxmaster, anything you do to speed up the process will be considered artificial toning no matter what method you choose

OK thanks everyone. I have no intention to sell this coin since I cleaned it. :( IT was totally black and I couldnt see the date. I know I disgraced the coin collecting rules :(
I just want to have a toned coin for myself. I think they look amazing. I have a Humidoor filled with cigars. If I leave it in there will it tone?

try puting it in an old plastic album (NOT pvc!!!) that has a lot o sulfer in it. this is the only way you can tone it in your lifetime and call it .natural, because thats the way almost all older toned coins became toned. also, if you dont care about the coin, you can put on an electric burner(practice with new, circulated coins), and it will tone. you can alsoleave it in the sunlight

My friend uses vaseline with mixed in a knifepoint of chrystaline sulphur and a very small amount of iodine Iodine will turn silver black in a hurry He puts a blob of that in a closed box and turns the coin regularly Depending on the temperature it is toned in one to three days On gold he uses a bunsenburner He grins at people that put the coin in a potato and bake it He also grins at people that tape it under their armpit and walk around with it for several weeks After all that experience he sees cleaned and retoned coins were I see nothing whatsoever wrong

Yes, it'll tone there rather nicely. Your likelihood of a result that will please you gets better along with the time it takes - the longer methods give better results.

You could also "cook" a silver coin in a black box for a few weeks. Although I'm not too sure a few weeks is quick.
