I know, need pics. I'm trying, but I am having trouble holding coin, loupe, and camera. I'll keep trying. Anyway, there is a line halfway down the fourth pillar from the left. It starts in between the columns, and goes halfway down. Any ideas?

Clashed die marks that were not fully removed/polished or a new clash before they are removed.
The area you mentioned are part of the outline of the back of the neck. See if this helps?

It's the fourth from the left, so nothing matches up.

Different years have smaller/larger devices. This one was a 2008-S. So an image would tell us more.

Coop, this off subject, but I want to thank you for all your time, resources and effort you put in to help. You are without a doubt one of the best learning tools on the forum and I have learned so much from you.

Thanks again, Jim

I still can tell what I should see in the image. But look at the 4th column? See how it narrows at the tops of 3 & 4th column? That is from an abraided die. The fields polished down so much that the columns (Deeper devices) are narrowed. So some work had been over done on this die.
