JBuck,
I have had to peel some out my self. But only out
of the blue packs so far. If I find an exceptional
specimen or a variety of some kind. The Blue Packs
are horrendous for trying to see the detail or beauty
of a coin. So those are the only one I have had to open
so far. Brown Boxes do actually allow you to study
the coin and see it quite well along with protecting it.
But if not stored properly they can get that milky haze on them.
I personally like that Blue toning that some of them get
that is so prevalent on the 74's like the one above.
I think the only reason I like keeping them in the original
holders is because back in 79-80 at just one local coin shop
I saw brown and blue Ike's come in by the moving box full
anywhere between 5 and 10 boxes at a time for weeks
on end I was at this shop three times a week back then
They were immediately broken out and shipped to the smelter.
I always thought that if that is happening at just one shop
in one town how many are even going to be left.
Even today one local shop gets them in to list on e-bay and sell
in the store and they break them out soon as they hit the shop.
So I just leave as many as possible in the original holder.
Who knows maybe someday the grand kids or great grand kids
may greatly appreciate it

Terry
