Quote: Brilliant Uncirculated.... I really like Brilliant Uncirculated coins. All of my Morgan dollars and Franklin half dollars are BU and the international coins I collect, Libertads, Britannias, Swans, etc. are BU. The 1971 Ike arrived today with some 1972, 1974 and 1976 BUs.

I'm thinking of getting some of the silver Ikes in the future.

I placed an order this morning for some 1971-S and 1972-S Silver Eisenhower dollar Proof (OGP). They come in plastic holders that are very similar to the Carson City Morgan dollars. My concern is that there was a disclaimer in the description saying that since they are in original mint packaging they may or may not be toned. What are the chances and how bad can they be?

Quote: What are the chances and how bad can they be? They may have clean mirror fields, they may be nicely toned, or they may have that weird white milky frosting that obscures. It is a known issue and you will not know until you have in hand. Finding a clean silver Ike still in the OGP lens might be like getting heads three flips in a row. I would have to believe most of the gems have been cracked and slabbed by now.

It will be a few days but I'll know then. If there is a problem I'll just tell my kids they are error coins and therefore more valuable.

Hello everyone. I probably won't be responding or re-photographing my Ike on this post. I've been out-of-service for a few days and still don't have my legs under me. I've been in the hospital with Bacterial Pneumonia since last Thursday morning.
I don't have my password for CCF on my tablet so I just lurked. I've seen that you all have been busy as usual! Good job!
Sorry that I won't be responding to the IKE posts but, yall have some pretty one's!!!

Hey Debbie, I hope you are on the mend. (you have to - who else can I complain to off boards?) I wish you well and a quick recovery.
