mestephil, I feel your pain. I once put a nice staple scratch across a beautiful 8 reales because I was impatient in removing it from a 2X2.

Great 'new' Ike Mest! Quote: Now I am at a loss as to what to do with the flawed proof coin, as I have a fondness to Ike dollars You can always set it free in circulation and see if jbuck can find it..

Thanks, everybody. Quote: You can always set it free in circulation I am actually considering doing that. Quote: I once put a nice staple scratch across a beautiful 8 reales because I was impatient in removing it from a 2X2. It's like running your finger nails on a chalkboard just reading that, Hondo! Quote: I recently started collecting Ike silver dollars and more recently Kennedy silver halves. GLB, I have long ways to go on my Kennedy's in general. My OCD commanded I create a checklist of all the years, mints, circulation, proofs, silver, clad, etc in order to keep track. Huge gaps that will occupy me for some time. Now I need to create a similar check list of the Ikes! Keeps me out of jail.

Quote: GLB, I have long ways to go on my Kennedy's in general. Yes, you do have a project on your hands. I'm keeping it simple and doing the silver Ikes and Kennedys right now. The brilliant uncirculated coins I collect like ASE, Libertad, Kruggerand, etc. keep me very busy so I try not to start anything new. But, you know how that goes.

Quote: Mestephil, Dearborn can help you with that listing of Kennedys. Yup, discovered that earlier today. Excellent reference.

The Ike topic is active with nice examples! Quote: You can always set it free in circulation and see if jbuck can find it.. My vote is to make it a pocket piece.

Quote: My vote is to make it a pocket piece. Yup, my other option. But I will wimp out and put it in a capsule if I do that.

I too vote for pocket piece.
It's already scratched.
