went to my bank to cash in quarters, my regular teller said she had some dollars for me. I took all 12 of them and found...
1-1972 2-1972D 2-1976 1-1976D 1-1976S 1-1977D 1-1978 3-1978D
The 2 1976 had what appeared to be dbldierev on ONE DOLLAR facing a different direction on each one. I know the 76s is good, don't know if any others are significant.
will post images soon. optimizer not working for me.

Here's my latest find...the 1971-D "Tiger Claw"..theory is a die worker let his abrading tool slip, and, it cut into the die, leaving gashes, which, when struck, show as raised lines near neck, IGWT, and remnants near the D...this is a 1-die coin, and hard to locate, minted VERY early in the first weeks of production, with the FEV's, according to the Ikegroup.org info.I have possibly discovered a NEW Die Marriage on reverse...the Ikegroup.org info states there are 2 known dies...an old obverse, with a matching old reverse, with a jawline clash, near earth....and, a 2nd NEW reverse(little, to no die flow lines), and, has NO jawline clash...my coin has a jawline clash, and, is newly struck, so, off it goes to the Ikegroup for attribution...stay tuned! ilikeikes, Very Cool Find Congratulations Chuck, Sorry to here about the end of the Ike bag party Picked this one up a few weeks ago from a local dealer. Finally got some time to photograph it. I thought the surface Highly reflective under the typical milky stuff that gets on Ike Proofs and the wire rim just did not look right for a 1971 S Silver Business Strike. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Terry

Here's a pretty sweet 1976-D Type-II I picked up from a 1976 Mint Set..while it shows some planchet chatter, which is so common on 76 IKES, it is at a minimum, and, a very early die state coin, with little to zippo die flow lines..some mint polishing adds to the luster...in hand, it's a "Blast" Calvin G.

I stopped by the bank the other day to do some business and I always ask for halves and Ikes. For once they said they had some but the teller who holds them was off, so they told me to come back Thursday. Well, today is Thursday so I stopped in and saw the teller. She said she had 24 of the "Big Dollars" but that the halves just go in the coin counter. She checked around and couldn't find any halves. The Ikes she had were: 71D (5) 72 (3) 72D (6) 74D (2) 76 (4) 76D 77D 78 78D

Nice finds! You just need a 71, a 74 and a 77 to complete the circulation set (not counting types, silver, proofs, or the 1973 mint set issues).

Here's a cool find...I have seacrhed A LOT of Ike dollars this year, and, all years in past, and have never found this error until today(I've seen plenty of close calls, but, not a "perfect" one like this)....like the known 1972 Kennedy half dollar, with NO Designer initials(FG reverse), this 1972-D IKE has a barely readable F, and no G...when you tilt the coin just the right direction, the FG dissapears all the way!...looks like a small amount of loose grease caused this, and not polishing from clashed die repairs...the 2nd pic is another IKE found last night, this 1978-D completely missing the F, while the G is full and intact. I can't resist posting my best find from last night...raw(MS63-ish) 1972-D, with the DDO-OO1-DDR-OO1 combo double dies....a sweet coin found in a dealer's album for $5.50....this is roughly a "early" Middle Die State coin, with heavy Class II distorted Hub Doubling on Date, IGWT, LIBER, and, stars on reverse, EPU, and heaviest in first S in STATES...a nice match for my NGC MS65 of the same, which is in true early die state, and, according to info in Rob Ezerman's new IKE Book, a very scarce die state double die, with roughly 1 in every 200,000 coins searched...
