hello, I am new to the Community. I have inherited several coins from my father in law's estate. Some have been world/ancient coins and I have no clue if they are real or replica's. I thank all of you for your guidance. I am also so sorry for the quality of pics..I thought I had a decent canon digital camera with all the'stuff'...i don't know if it is me or the camera. At this point I think it is me. Anyway, I have a few ancient? coins I will put on in the next few days to see what you guys/gals think? Thank you so much in advance. Ricknjan from kansas

Geez, I need to figure out how to post a picture?

You've got two options for getting a picture to appear in your post:

Option 1 - If you've already downloaded the picture somewhere on the Internet (eg a photo hosting service like Photobucket, or onto your own personal homepage or blog)

- All you need to do is type or copy&paste the URL of the image into the post, and put [img] at the front of it and [/img] at the back.

Example:
Typing this into your post:

[img]http://www.coincommunity.com/images/pageheader1.gif[/img]

causes the following picture to appear:
Spain-Coin

Option 2 - upload the pictures onto the CCF server

- First, make sure your picture file is the right size and format, and saved onto your computer where you know where to find it. The file has to be less than 100kB in size (that's kilobytes, not pixels - a 600x600 pixel image should easily fall under the file size limit), the filename must consist only of letters and numbers (no spaces, brackets, punctuation or $pecial ch@racters) and the filename extension must be .jpg or .gif - no bitmaps allowed.

- Either start a new thread or click the "reply to thread" link at the top right of the thread you want to put an image into.

- Click the little green camera icon below the text reply box. A popup should appear, asking you to browse your computer for the file you wish to upload.

- Click "Browse", then find where the file is on your computer and select it.

- Now click the "Upload to post" button in the popup; it should come up with the message "The following file has been successfully received" and the statistics on the file. If a strange error message appears here instead, go back to step one and make sure the filename and size comply with the rules stated there.

- If you have additional pics to upload at the same time, click on the "upload another file" link and repeat the previous two steps for the next file you have on your computer.

- Close the popup window; you should now see the uploaded file's URL at the bottom of your text reply box, automatically placed between [img] tags. It will appear in your post as an image when you click the "Post new reply" button.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis
