The Coat of arms on the side with the goofy looking dude looks like Saxony (German states), I also think I could make out the word Saxony (saxoni) on that side of the coin. I see no date, but there is what looks like the roman Numerals DVCVM ?

DVCVM translates to 1610 - if they do represent Roman numerals.

I do think this coin is Italian though rather than German.

Wouldn't DVCVM mean "duchy"?

Fratum Ducum Saxoni possibly refers to Frederick III, Elector of Saxony 1463-1525

The obverse is the second picture

MO NO FRATRVM DVCVM SAXONI (MONETA NOVA FRATRVM SAXONIAE)

The reverse is the first picture

LANT GRAVIORVM THV ET MAR MI (LANTGRAVIORUM THURINGIAE ET MARCHIONUM MISNIAE)

Unfortunately at this moment I only know this identification

To be honest I thought it looked wrong 'DVCVM' just didn't look like a RN format, in the end I typed it into an online translator to see what it came up with. It returned 1610 but maybe it is incorrect.

I did find an Italian website (below) that had similar legends listed for coins but as its pretty basic and only in Italian thats as far as I got. This is why I thought it was Italian. The saxoni ref could refer to the saxony line of the HRE though the larger coat of arms in the second picture is that of the Ernestines and that of Saxony.

Its quite valuable 1554-1557 - heres a one in worse condition for 195 euros. It should be noted though that your coin is missing 2 of the letters compared to the one in the link (Could just be a mis-stamp on 'SAXONIA' and a dif spelling of 'LANTGRAVIORVM')? Not sure what that means or if its bad news for your coins value?

Johann Friedrich (sometimes rendered to John Frederick) Duke of Pomerania from 1560 to 1600, and Bishop of Cammin from 1556 to 1574?
