Hey gang,

I've got about a 3-4 year old Kodak ZD710. It does have macro, and I've tried taking pictures with loads of light, but I'm terrible. What else should I be doing that I'm not?

This is what I do. I don't know if this helps or not...

1. I mount my camera on a copy stand (see link https://goccf.com/t/60746)
3. Place coin on top of a dark background (black or blue)
4. I use a well lit room with the 'GE Reveal' lighting
5. I set my camera to 'Close-Up'
6. I set my camera to 'Macro'
7. I disable Flash
8. I center and zoom coin
9. I hit the 'Focus' button
10. I set my 'Delay' to 2-seconds
11. I press the Shutter button
12. Open JPG in PhotoShop 7
13. Manually align the coin to grid
14. Lasso the coin with a 5pt feather
15. Copy
16. Paste onto a new canvas
17. Insert a new layer
18. Move new layer behind coin layer
19. Bucket dump black onto new layer
---
If image doesn't appear life-like:
20. Image -> 'Auto Levels'
21. Image -> 'Auto Color'
---
If all else fails and coin still doesn't appear life-like:
22. Manual adjustment using Hue/Saturation, Color Balance, Brightness&Contrast
