Yup, that's the first thing that tipped me off to the US roll. I actually found a second roll of all US dimes about 10 rolls later. Like the first, nothing special.
Canadian dimes are hard to search and the depth of the design compared to American coinage makes me not want to examine each one for errors. I check both sides of every other coin I search, but when I get dimes I just look at the dates and roll em up. This box so far (about 20 rolls left) I've found 2 silver, after five boxes of not finding a single one.

Splatto, I think that if I were only searching Canadian dimes for silver, I'd save alot of time by using a big magnet.

That is interesting, but there are still a couple other of things I'm looking for, namely, a 1969 large date, and a 1980 Wide 0 (or Narrow 0, I can't remember anymore, I just know which I need from the shape of the 9).
Once I find the 1980, if I ever give up on the 1969, I'll take that approach

SD, use a magnet for Canadian rolls - it's pure nickel up until 2001 (no "P").

Congrats AF on that merc! I went thru $1k in hand rolled and pulled 5 rosies, a '27 merc, and an '89 S proof clad, my second one recently. It stuck out because it was so fat! While picking up the dimes, I was talked into buying $40 in Ikes, which I just might start keeping, someone out there is willing to pay twice face. Also, out of $70 in nickels I scored one war and 320 pre-60's, must have been a collector's dump.

I have done three boxes of dimes and managed to pull 5 silvers out including an AU 1941 Merc. As with roll hunting I feel its personal preference to customer wrap v. boxes but I havent skunked out on boxes so its a good feeling.
