Three from 1 box today.. 2 1964D and a 1961D. The cool thing was that one roll had 2 and they were right next to each other.

I did another box of clear plastic brinks dimes. Guess what...nothing.
I asked earlier and no one replied, so I'll ask again. This is to the "No one pulls silver dimes before they make it to the customer" crowd. I'm at about 33 boxes now without a single visible silver dime. It's probably been 20ish since finding a tarnished silver. At what point would YOU concede that something isn't right?

Owassokie Do you have any banks around you that get paper rolls or is it just plastic?
I would have given up by that point and switched to something else.

Bought full bag of dimes last night. Approx 4000 done - 1 53 roosie so far. A lot of work and money tied up. Dumping back what I've gone through in a few. I had never done dimes other than handful of rolls here and there. Pretty disappointed so far, but luck could change. I was figuring 5/bag. I'm on pace for 2.5
It's the thrill of the hunt though.

CoinCbass: Besides the Silver, are you also checking for any errors/varities? I know it's time consuming and the dates are so small etc, but there a some valuable Dime DDO'S/DDR'S ( Rev: 5th Edition, Vol-2 Cherry-Pickers Guide- 2012.) Good Luck in your searches!

Chuckster - I am not. Just edge searching and it takes a long time. With cents and nickels I check, but I am taking long time just going through them. Found a 59. 2 total and approx 2/3 done.
On related note - my dad found a bu merc in bag of pennies the other day. Few days later at the bank, he asked the teller if anyone notable dumped dimes. They remembered little old lady that dumped 5 old looking rolls. He tried to buy bag of dimes but it shipped. Chances are 5 rolls (minus 1) are out in the wild - good luck all

if you can get them to sell you the bags they are shipping out, every time I have asked they say they are inventoried or already written down and they can't sell them. also if they hear silver hit the other coin they dig through the bag, I know because I watched them do it once when they were breaking down rolls into bags to send off. I did manage to buy about 4k in customer wrapped rolls the other day before they were broken down in bags and found a few dimes and 2 quarters, first quarters since probably december, I usually don't even bother with quarters as they are usually all newer coins.

I get bags from coin counters. The banks around here rarely get enough of anything to break down into bags. I have yet to do quarters although I may do a bag as there is one full one at one of my banks
