Mexico 1974 Cinco Centavos
When edge searching those Canadian dimes become such teasers.

Finally got through a $1000 bag from the coin counter that I got on Friday. Worst bag in a long time. Only 3 Roosevelt's from the 1950's. There were also 2 Canadian dimes and a British 5 pence. Only edge searched them.

How do you get your bags? I ask my credit union where I dump and they don't sell them to the customers. They return them to Lomis then they redistribute. Is there a way to get bags from the Coinstars? If so would it be worth it? I've heard where the coin-stars reject silver not sure if thats 100 on all silver coins or not.

Carlos: My wife retired from the bank where I get my bags. They have about 10 branches within 25 miles but only two have coin counters. The other bank that has a counter has really grouchy tellers so I only ask at the one branch where she worked. Not a lot of silver in the dimes and quarters but when the half dollar bag gets filled it can be a treasure hunt.

Many banks will only tolerate we roll hunters. Some hunters have ruined it for the rest of us by crying to the bank when the bag they bought is short. My wife is a vault teller and I hear about things like this first hand, and I hear it from vault tellers from other banks. Finally, the bank says no more, not worth the hassle. I've been lucky enough to establish a good customer relationship with several banks that allow me to purchase the bags of loose customer rolls, and bags off the machine, over five years now with no problems (on their side), I have on occasion received short bag counts, and rolls with slugs, etc, but I NEVER mention it to the bank. I eat the loss silently. As far as Coinstar goes, they are normally under contract with Brinks, Loomis, etc, so chances of buying those bags would be slim.

Quote: by crying to the bank when the bag they bought is short So the banks want to get away with banking fraud? They hand over a bag, box, roll of coins they are legally responsible for it to have the amount it says in it. Now wonder many people don't like banks. Soon this country will turn into Valkenvania because all the dirty bankers in it!

One would have to count the bag while still in the bank. Not fun. It's when the roll hunter later returns, and complains that the bag is off count that is the problem. Too late now.
The courier such as Brinks picks up the bag. Brinks weighs the bag. The bank is allowed a percentage off count.

Sometimes they are off in your favor. It generally works out. Fistful is right - NEVER complain.
Where you make it back is when you hit a bag w 4 rolls of silver halves or 40 mercs
Takes a lot of work and the right teller to make this work
