If I remember right the 1957 was a D mint and the others were all P's. I have always done $1000 bags from the banks coin counter. The least I have found is 2 and that happened twice. One time last fall in a bag I found 39 if my memory is correct. We later found out that some kids robbed a grandparent and took the coins into the bank and ran them through the counter. I never did find out if there were any silver quarters taken.
I have never tried to figure an average but I would guess 7 or 8 for the bag. I have found 10 probably more than any other number but a couple bad bags brings the average down.

Wow thats not to bad at all thanks! I was just asking cause I recently finished my jefferson collection and have made the decision to try to finish my Roosevelt folders now and obviously finding all the silver dates is going to take some time so I was just curious how often you found silver. Once again thanks!

I quit buying bags got one $70.00 short and another $35 short.
I buy boxes or CWR which usually have a surplus and I have decent luck with them.

I do not keep track but I would guess about
1 per box.

well so far 7 out of 9 boxes. first 2 were junk then hit 2 in 3rd box, then nothing in 4th box 1 in 5th box, and 2 in 6th box. nothing in boxes 7 and 8 and 2 in the final box 9. Dates are 2 1964, 1 1962, 1 1957, 1 1956, and 1 1952  Edited by naburt

i bag yielded 3 silver roosies.
been disapointed lately with the amount of silver in the bags of dimes. someone must be doing some small dumps.

Got $620 in CWR found 19 Roosevelt's
and they were all in the same roll.
The newest dime in the roll was 1967.
My best roll so far.

Found 12 silver dimes in 2 bags.
includes 1937 and 1941S Mercs.
Above average haul per bag. Was happy.

trapper and bass sweet finds!! my last 10 boxes of dimes produced 27 of them ( 22 roosies 5 mercs)
