You wouldn't find proofs in the box you could find some really nice business strikes though In a box of 2010P nickels I found 2 blank planchets which was pretty cool seems like a lot of work for probably getting nothing I was just bored the week I got the nickels so I decided to search them Also a side subject here I search nickels too and yes I pull way more keepers from nickels then dimes but I save all pre 59 nickels in dimes mostly I keep the silver and 1969 coins (low mintage maybe one day they will be rare) If I only kept the silver nickels and a few rare dates in the nickels like I do the dimes I think I would have more keeper dimes then nickels just something fun to think about

Quote: yeah, I saw a few sell for 275.00 but, I mean, that's really not even worth it for me to go through the hassle of shipping and everything. That's probably close to break even if you add in add in the ebay and PayPals and shipping.

yeah but it is pretty crazy that anyone would be willing to pay a premium for them.

Sure does: for stuff under 3K I think it's 2.9% + $0.30 for the receiver. It's a violation of ebay policy to charge the buyer that price over their bid and a violation to transfer the money as a "gift" (which is really stupid for the buyer to do anyway). You used to be able to make money selling on ebay as a small time seller, but it's pretty hard since ebay bought PayPal and forced sellers to use it. I made a lot of pizza money in college on the 'bay. Now unless your buy/sell difference is really high, it's not worth the effort for small time sellers. I got lucky and found a box of 2010D nickels in July and managed to make a few hundred dollars off just a few rolls, but even a few weeks later I only pulled a $25 profit off a whole box. Now I'm sitting on yet another one. Some people will jump on a perceived rarity early on hoping they might cash in - sometimes they're right and sometimes they're wrong. Oh and on topic: one of my coworkers poured all her change ($7.27) in a bag and told me I could sift through it. Found a 64D dime in that change and offered her 50 cents for it!

went to the bank hoping to get $500-$700 in CWR's.. NOT.. only had $180.. but I put an order in for $500 next week.
anyway, first roll in was a shotgun rolled.. I was like WOW.. until I opened it to find 2 dimes on either end with pennies in-between... ARGH that makes me mad... AND to boot I found a 10c peso in another roll... not gonna point any fingers but I bet you can guess what I was thinking...
anyway, out of now $175, I did manage to get a decent haul:
46 57-d 58-d 64-d
waaaay better than my 1/$100

cutepenny,
I've been finding 2-3 dimes per box on average, rarely I find only one...usually if I find one there is at least another (odd). also, when I buy 4 or 5 boxes, usually at least 1 is a skunk.

I don't hit the dimes like I used to, but my averages are: roosies 1/$135, mercs 1/$1,400, canadians 1/$1,400. This is out of $18,850 searched this year. This is my normal average searching String boxes and cwr's. My true average was skewed by cwr roll containing 28 silver dimes.
