I have this coin, which I've no idea if it is a counterfeit or not. It's suppose to be made out of silver or so. I've got no scanner so I can only give a description. It's bigger than the US 50 cent, one side it has brittania standing up holding a trident with a date 1898, while on the other side it has chinese and (I believe) Mughal characters. Is it worth anything? Thanks!

Sounds like you have a common date Great Britain Trade dollar. Depending on the condition, it would be worth $20 or more. Others on the forum here have posted photos of this dollar here.

Probably the first thing you need to do is get an accurate weight on the coin. It should weigh just under 27 grams. Most counterfeits weigh up light, frequently as light as 17 or 18 grams.
