I am mailing my 1996 Olympic Coin Proof Set. The dollar with the guy going over the pole and the half with the guy swimming for a credit of 57dollars. In exchange I am getting 1999 Australia Lunar 1oz, 2000 Australia Lunar 1oz, and 2001 Austalia Lunar 1oz plus S&H and 3.20 change. Is this a good deal. I want the australias more than the olympic.

I'll leave the question of whether you got a good deal to those that know more about Olympic Proofs. If you like the Lunars, which I know that you do, then it was a good deal for you. Are the Lunars BU's? When you receive them you should post pics. I for one would love to see them (Although I know what they look like)!

Well, a quick search finds that the Olympic proofs are going for about $40 per coin on ebay. The Lunars bring between $15-20 each. Monetarily, it's not a killing, but if you prefer the Lunars you have nothing to regret.

I only paid really 21 dollars I bought a morgan for 21 and traded that for the set which was 35. So the chain keeps going up lol. I personally find the olympics to look ugly. I dont have a digital cam so I cant post the lunat pics but they are the standerd ones like BU or Proof I know its only one type could someone please clarify if they only made proof? Because they make mirror reflection the guy said.

Hey coolg....pictured here is a proof issue as well as a specimen issue. Have a close look at the central devices, scroll of bats and the background of both coins and see whether you can pick up which one is the proof and which one is the specimen (I feel you will learn faster than just have answers provided to you).

I would like the trade because I really like my Lunar coins. I have them all in 1 ounce silver.

The Perth Mint mints both in the 1oz issues. You can also get them in colourised format as well as in gold gilded format.
