Hi all,
I found a 1976-s in a roll. I've often wondered what happen's to the value of this proof coin. In the Red Book, It's listed at $3.20 as pf-65, What's the value after someone put this coin in circulation? Now it's far from a nice coin

Thank's;
Moonshine

Good question. I would assume it would fall under the standards of a circulated cent, subject to the MS and down grades. But, I'm guessing and would like to know the pro's answers as well.

I think it would be graded as an impaired proof. A proof is a proof.

I see proofs all the time graded pf58, pf55, pf50 so I would assume that still would assign a numerical grade to it all the way down the scale.

A common proof coin like that does not really retain any value once circulated. It is easy enough to find that no one would have a reason to purchase an impaired one over an unimpaired one.
