1883 American Dollar

Morgan Silver Dollar, 1883, 90% silver, 10% copper. In very good condition, slight amount of wear, but as stated already the rim dings would hold back a high grade. I would say EF-40.

something I fishy to me......but I'm no expert...but the date is to in line even if its slant date usually one numeral is out of line.....I will research this

My first thought when I looked at the digital photos was the back looks like a hard strike. The scanned photos look better. Must have been the lighting.

I have seen these like this all the time. As a matter of fact I just sent one with the same appearance to a fellow member. Mine was one of my pocket pieces I used to carry around and that is when it got the color as all are describing in this thread, it was real black when I started but I guess rubbing in my pocket after awhile it took on the lighter gray color except for on the devices those looked kind of polished also because they were what rubbed most on the pocket material I guess
