The Red Book says there are 4 flavors of 1839 Large Cent. But I can't figure out which one I have. Is this a 1) 1839 over 1836 Plain Cords, 2) Head of 1838, Beaded Cords, 3) "Silly Head" or 4) "Booby Head".

Plain vs. Beaded Cords? I'm not sure what part of the coin this is referring to. Also, is this in good enough condition to grade VG?

The beaded cord or plain cord refers to the cord tying Liberty's "bun" in her hair. This is the beaded variety, and appears to be the "head of 1838".

I'll snoop some. As to grade....Maybe VG-8, but copper's not my field.
