Just out of curiosity, I emailed that seller to see what his asking price for that Morgan is.

I know book value of an actual MS-65 1884-S Morgan is around $250,000( Red Book price).

Actually the post looks familiar. I believe that the same/similar post was on Philadelphia craigslist recently.

Not for nothing, but everything he has listed in his ad, if they were graded by a reputable grading service, are all high end coins with 5 or 6 digit values, according to Red Book.

To me that makes it more suspicious, if you have coins with values in the 5 or 6 digits values, why not send it to a reputable grading service?

I am going to tell you, the coin he has pictured is no where near a MS-65 and with this "grading service" you have no guarantee of authenticity or anything. All the coin being key dates or worth quite a bit in higher grades doesn't give me a calming feeling about this seller either. You can buy copies on ebay all day long that look good enough to foll most collectors and even some experts that do not have the word "copy" on the coins so this slab coupled with the fast all coins are worth copying just makes me suspicious

I now know this is a complete and total scam. His reply to my email regarding asking price for that coin is $2,300.00.

Yeoman's book price for an 1884-S Morgan in MS-65 is $250,000.

XF45 cleaned and, some clown in his garage with Coin World slabs creating his own TPG. These are everywhere. Trust only PCGS,NGC,ANACS,ICG. All others beware.

Vermont,

I reported his ad directly to craig's list as being a scam. Hopefully they remove it and block this idiot from trying this again on their site.

That would be good. That's the problem with Craigslist and ebay is they are so big, these guys find a way to slip through the cracks with these scams.
