I just got this 1912 LWC in from Harlen Berk. I love this coin! What do you think it grades? Thad, this one is a close relative to the 1945-S you sold me a few weeks back. Thanks, Edited by JimR 03/16/2010 3:18 pm

Hey, maybe that means you got an MS coin at an AU price!
Are you thinking about playing the crack it and submit it game?
( edit ) Not that it matters, what brand of slab does it live in now?

AU That coin had a really bad day at the graders. I would really like to see that one up close and personal. I guess they saw something in that left wheat ear and even though it does not look like wear from the pics they could not bring them selves to a MS grade. If you don't mind, who did you send it to? They said it was AU-58?
That's impossible to tell from pictures. It sure looks like an MS coin to me. I'm sure you got a great deal on it if that's the grade HB gave it. I would have paid AU money for that in a split second!

Jim, It was purchased raw. It would be interesting to see if it came back MS from a TPG. I truly think it could go MS on any given day. But alas it is snuggled away in the Dansco where I think it will stay for long time. So Thad at $27.00 you agree this purchase was a no brainer

Berk had that priced at $27! Someone is going to lose their job. That's a steal. Jim
