You know, I use to use those coin albums. Tho the book itself it great, theres PVC in the outer pages of the where the coin are housed.
The coin is put into a slider that smells and looks like its safe, but then that is slide into a PVC smelling outer page.

Well then Dollar1948, that info seals the deal for me. Thanks for that! I really liked some of those coin binders, even if it is not PVC ridden, I really try to stay away from scented plastics and coin products. Great info, I did not know that supplies were being sold through the mint either. What about those coin tongs? They look kind of cool. Do you have those? Where else could I get a reasonable pair of tongs? Does my coin dealer have them ? I have never actually seen them with a pair in use I wonder

Regarding PVC, I have been using the plastic coin pages that fit three ring binders, some with the blue edge and and some without, purchased at a local coin dealer. I do like the format, but am now wondering about pvc damage even with the use of 2x2's. I checked all of them and they do have that smell to some degree. Is this cause for concern and can I buy non-pvc pages?
Thanks.

Ya know, the advise I get for this issue is all over the board depending on who you speak to
Some tell me, its direct contact with the coins that cause the issue, others tell me its a toxic gas that is realsed is where the harm can be as well.
Im so confused by head is spinning.
The reason I got away from those Numis albums is, sometimes the coin would slightly slide out of the slider and would touch the outer page.

Regarding PVC, interesting article here (with a link on how to remove PVC residue):

Why removing PVC residue? Because (item #10):

Hi All

I am new here.

All I can say about the RCM seling accessories etc, does not come to me as a surprise.

If Canada Post does the same thing, then the RCM does as well.

As long as they make money (no pun intended) they will be in to it.

Cheers
