I would almost say the voting went 7 Canadian, 4 US.
Not that we from "south of the border", have less respect for the Queen. it is that we show more warmth, and love for a grand old lady. Yes She will always be "VICKY", with all due respect and honor, but "VICKY".

Regardless of what name you use to describe the older coinage, one thing that nobody can deny is that they are absolute "classics"!

I think you can add the rest of the Empire along with the Canadians.

I voted for "Victoria", though around here we usually specifically say "coins of Queen Victoria" or "coins from the Victorian period" to clearly distinguish the monarch from the Australian colony (now a state) that bears her name. I've never heard anyone around here ever refer to coins with Queen Victoria's portrait on them as "Vickies".

I think it's ok to use Vicky,on a forum such as this(it reduces keystrokes),at a club,or coin show,anywhere where the discussion is familiar.I think Victoria should be used in any publication or offering of a coin for sale.
