Those nickels are in excellent condition. Nice find! How large was this hoard, and how much did you pay?

Any chance you could post some pics of the obverse of the 5 cents for starters?
Maybe we could give them a ball park grade and value.
Wouldnt mind going through the same exercise for the 1 cents as well, (dont worry about the one with the hole)

Im am work right now, just winding up for the day and as such I don't have my trends report to help you with value. Perhaps someones at home and could help Calavares.
My eyes welled up when I saw the detail left on Queen Vickies hair, and then that shot-gun hole through the entire coin. For the life of me, I struggle with why someone would do this.
BTW, the 1943 Cent? Throw it back into circulation..isn't worth any more than face. At least I wouldnt pay anymore for it than that.
Perhaps somneone else can provide their opion on grade value as well.

dollar1948, I see we think very juch alike! I have never understood why one would deface a coin, If they doin't like the person it represents, then that is their privelige, but don't deface the coin. I would have been very proud to have known her. she was some kind of lady!

Well Dino. I don't think Victoria would have turned anyheads in her later life, after that drastic weight gain, but defeacing a coin like that is just wrong.

I'm having trouble determining if the crud I'm seeing on these 1 cent coins is corrosion or stuff that can be soaked off.
