For fun, I've been keeping an eye out for different Canadian pennies in hopes of getting one of each. I've got these ten so far. Am I missing any younger than the sorry little 1909? (Just regular coins, no variety, thanks. I'm still on pocket-change-budget.)

The oldest of these came out of a forgotten coin purse belonging to my grandmother. This was also in it, and is one of my favorite coins-

It *looks* to me as if you are only missing a Victoria (1858 - 1901). You will not find one of those in pocket change (they are significantly bigger than today's pennies). Also, the 1909 appears to be a dime, not a penny.

Yes, I did just notice that the 1909 is a 10c piece, not a penny. I feel a little foolish. :)

You're missing anything with a P mark 2001-2004 I believe, off the top of my head. Also, you're missing the 12-sided copper with the Queen's younger face from the 1980s. And the double date from 1992. I guess you got more homework on your hands!

Nice collection so far - I like the 50c!

You're off to a really great start. In addition to the Victoria that jg86 mentions, here are a couple other types:
Edward VII (1902-1910), large cent
George V (1911-1920), large cent - you have the small cent (1920-1936)
George VI had two different types, 1937-1947 and 1948-1952

Here's a link with some more information:

Thanks Libertad and Patrick!
I'll write those dates down and keep an eye out for them. :)

I am not so familiar with the "profiles, to determine the date, so If you had the other side of the soins showing the dates, I could make some recommendations,but.... There are many dofferent small cent varieties, so you would do well to obtasin a charlton catalogiue. it will show what, and when. then you will see what you have in store for you. Happy hunting.

These are the years of all my Canadian pennies- above are one of each different face. I do have a few holes, as pointed out. :)

Now I see! I didn't see the faces. I just looked at the coins. It tales getting used to.
Now that you mention it, I also have every one of those dates, along with several more. Mine go back to 1859. I do not collect UK, et al, so there obviously will not be full coverage. I am happy with my northern neighbor, and its provinces. We had no problems with her!
