Help Getting This Crud Off Of Silver Coin?

Halfwitty Pillar of the Community United States 1523 Posts	Posted 03/19/2010 1:30 pm Could someone suggest a way of getting this black stuff off of this silver coin. I have soaked it in acetone with no results.What about white vinegar?Would that damage the coin? Report this Post to the Staff

It really doesn't look that bad, and it may be creating some contrast that preserved some of the detail. Report this Post to the Staff

It may not be noticeable noting the condition of the coin. p.s. - I personally don't find the discoloration that distracting. kind of gives it character that a pure white coin in AG wouldn't have.
