Most likely irremovable but you can cetainly give a soak in distilled water, acetone and then xylene.

LOL - that's been my default so far. I was just wondering if I should do anything to try and preserve it. I don't want it to get worse, but of course, I don't want to make it worse.

Is this considered verdigris or something else?
