I have a 1776-1876 commemorative coin. I would like to know if it was actually made in 1876 or made later to celebrate the centenniel.

One side of the coin: dated 1776 has a lady liberty (holding a sword pointed down) in center (with star burst above her head) and around the edge it reads "These United Colonies are and of right ought to be free and independent states."

Flip Side: dated 1876 - around the edge it reads "By authority of the Congress of the United States" In the center with a ring of what looks like wheat it reads "In commemoration of the hundredth anniversary of American Independence"

There is no other markings on it. It is about the size of a silver dollar. Any ideas?

Well I just found the medal section, I guess I posted this in the wrong place. One side looks the same with lady liberty, but the other side is totally different.
