UNC 1879S Morgan ... I think the coin has great details, but some ugly spotting on the obverse and slight rub on eagles breast. Also appears to be some debris on the lower left of the obverse near the neck line ... sooner or later, I need to get that carefully removed.

Looking for forum thoughts on grade .... Thanks!

"Slight rub on the breast" equates to a grade of AU 58.

MS-63. Great details but a few chattermarks and like Echizento said a fingerprint on the reverse.

And a possible scratch near the date on obverse (could be a hair/fuzz on the coin).

If the scratch(?) in the neck area wasn't so pronounced, it would make 64.

I'm guessing weak strike that I'm mistaking for wear.
If it is weak strike MS-62 (due to the scratch)
If waer AU-58

I see no wear, I think MS-63 would be abut correct for this one. 1879-S is one of the most beautiful struck morgans of the series (behind the 1880-S) and can be pretty reasonable in super high grades like 66 and above compared to most other dates of the series
