Hi ... For those of us who will collect from circulation the State Park quarters . How easy or difficult will they be to save from circulation? The State Quarters which I have saved like that were not difficult in that respect.I sent for two Whitman folders and am curious if I can fill them as easily I had the State Quarters ... any thoughts ...

That depends on whether the economy pick up or not through this series. Better economy = higher demand for coins = more available (that's why if you check the 1999-2001 quarters mintage, they were in the hundred millions while 2009s were ~50million), but since this series has also been given much fanfare, you should be able to fine it at banks that order rolls directly from the federal reserve. No doubt 1-2 years after that specific quarter's release, it could be found in circulation.

They will not be as easy to find. With the State Quarters most banks ordered and had on hand a box or more of the new State Quarter on hand for distribution on the first day. Collectors could just go to their bank and get several rolls. The Federal Reserve has announced that they are NOT going to let banks make specific orders for the new quarters and and requests for quarters will be filled using whatever quarters happen to be on hand. So on the release day now chances are almost certain that your bank WILL NOT have them. You will never know when they might get some in and it will be very possible that they will NOT get some of each design or in the order they are released. Now eventually you WILL be able to find them in your pocket change, but it will be more of a challenge to find Uncs.

Hence.....the sales for the "Two Roll P&D Sets" of these will go up dramatically probably.
It's NOT something that I want to pay for to get the BU's of these, ($32.95 per Set-PLUS shipping & handling---throughout the entire run of the 10 year program, this will be VERY EXPENSIVE TO DO !).... but yeah, it does sound like this might be the only way to secure BU examples of each mint throughout this new program of issues.

Obviously though, those who "Crack the OGP's" will have no problem filling albums ! (Of course, as far as I know....these will be Satin Finish and not Biz. Strikes though-which "is" a different coin !)

I guess for those who want to collect these, will have some thinkin' to do ! .....
I really don't know yet what I want to do...

I don't think that a large portion of the public yet understands
that collecting this series will not be 'easy' like the
State Quarters. I just roll my eyes when I see National Parks
Quarters folders at Hobby Lobby...

You won't be 'guaranteed' to be able to just walk into your local
bank and walk out with BU rolls of the current issue National Parks
Quarters at face value. Banks cannot special order these Quarters as
'commemoratives' (as they could do with the State/Territory Quarters),
and the Federal Reserve will fill bank's orders with whatever Quarters
that they happen to have in stock! This means that some of the
National Park Quarters could sit in vaults for several years
before they are finally released for circulation.

This will also affect how coin dealers are able to obtain these Quarters
(or not, as the case may be!). These Quarters will be like the
2009-2010 Cents, distributed at random, and anyone lucky enough to
get a full bank box of them will run right home and put them on ebay!

It appears that the Mint's Two Roll P&D Sets will be the most efficient
(and, shockingly, possibly the most cost-efficient!) way to
complete albums of BU P&D business strike National Parks Quarters.

Those who open the Two Roll Sets should buy extra albums and fill
them with the extra coins! There might actually be some demand on
ebay, etc. in a few years for National Parks albums filled with
business strike Quarters, due to the difficulties of obtaining
these coins at face value.

Good luck with that, upstate! The Fed will only
be shipping these Quarters to banks when they run out of circulated
Quarters, which means that you might have better odds of finding a
silver Quarter in your change than a National Parks Quarter.
(and that's just plain evil...)
