I've just seen a rather nice example of the above on E Bay and wonder what its current value is as it seems to be a special issue - were there many issued ?

Not sure of current value but there are two varieties I am not sure how to tell them apart.

As for price I paid $35 for this one several years ago saw it and had to have it.

There were 2m minted. The latest CV's (Maccas):

G-$10: F-$12: VF-$25: EF-$60: aUnc-$130: Unc-$235: ChUnc-$485: Gem $925

Not sure about 2 varieties, there was ONE only trial pattern uniface (obv)coin that sold for $7500 back in 1983.

Some error coins are known, but they're not varieties. Sorry to be pedantic.

There is a standard 1927 Florin that has the Coat of Arms on the Reverse, mintage 1,420,000. Values slightly higher than for the Commem version.

Richard, that is one nice example. Not sure if you know, but one of the things to look for are well defined steps on Parliament House, and yours are just about perfect. That coin is worth a good deal more than $35. Thanks for sharing.

Nice set of steps there Richard, go a long way to find a better defined set. There was a CAB magazine article that discussed this coin, specimen strike and the like in the last twelve months. May pay to have a read.
