A rare venture for me into your side of the pond, but I have a weakness for 19th Century European copper and this one seemed nice for the grade. I wonder if someone might comment as to their relative rarity on the ground these days?

Very nice little coin, I would would at at AU-55. 2,688.000 minted, Krause lists it at $85 for UNC with the dot after the date.

It looks to have a bit more wear than an AU (lots of robe folds missing on the reverse). I don't know about this date's strike issues, though - could be weak.

I really like these, too, and pick them up whenever I can, especially in better conditions like this. Not sure about rarity, though.

By the way, 2009 Spinks lists the 1821 at 60 pounds in EF (no separate distinction for the dot after date). Nice coin, SD

I see them fairly frequently in Mint State but this one struck me with the quality of the planchet and fields. Quite happy with the purchase as my Great Britain representative in the set. I grade it no better than gEF, myself.

The 2010 Spinks lists it at £65 so that is a gain of £5 in a year! Nice coin, and by the way, great photos!

Forgot to mention that £65 is just about $100.
