I just got this one recently. The toning is not that great, but it has rather nice detail and some interesting chops. So how would you grade it?

Looks like a week strike and some dings here and there. I'm not very good at this, but I guess VF30

I think this coin might be a counterfeit, Swamperbob would know for sure. If it's real it does appear to have a weak strike especially around the edges, based on that I would agree with VF-30.

echizento- Nah, I don't think so. The edges are pretty good, it sounds of silver, and it is 26.93 grams. So I'm pretty sure that this one is real. Other than the strike were there any other indicators that led you to think that this was a fake?

echizento- Yeah, the toning is a bit odd. It has a kind of goldeny- blackish tone. I think that this means that it was exposed to sulfur at one point.

My understanding is the 'Dragons Teeth' started to be used on the coins in 1867 in the Mexico mint. Your coin shows these as small pointed spikes on either side of the central downward pointing ray. That tells me the coin is authentic and I would grade it VF as well.

Nice chop marks. I like that because then you know the coin has been around the world and is full of history.

I agree VF.
As for authenticity - I defer to SwamperBob.
