Found this in my dad's pocket change- he probably picked it up in 1995 and it's been in his bin of change ever since. It's got a crack half way up the neck that goes from the front of the neck to about 2/3rds the width across.
Is this indeed a die crack? Common error? Thanks much!

You have a half dollar with an exceptionally strong strike, it is a normal part of the design but it usually rather indistinct on business strikes. Look at this proof coin and you will see the same neck crease feature.
I know I'm replying to a rather ancient post, but thanks for the information! I felt a bit foolish after realizing that I was comparing a pretty good coin with a pretty worn coin, so no wonder I didn't see the mark on it :P
