I will post pictures later. It is a bronze? 1776-1976 commemorative coin with the Libery bell on the reverse. On top of the Liberty bell there is an eagle. On the obserse there is a soldier holding a rifle.
Rest in Peace

I'll take a stab at this one, It sounds like a bi-centennial medal, probably struck in the latter part of the twentieth century. The minuteman represents vigilant defense and the liberty bell and the eagle represent freedom. A popular subject for both public and private mints during the period. More likely to be American than British.

Pictures would help to determine the mint and to see if the exterior can be removed to reveal an alternative commodity based currency.

Oh, welcome to the forum where we may be silly rather than stuffy!
