I've decided to narrow down what I'm collecting for the next few months and will focus on building a nice collection of 1868 coins, one of each denomination. Some are quite pricey, even in G4, but I should be able to get most of them in XF or better.

Does Dansco make an album that would be suitable for this?

I figure I can add 1-2 coins p/month.

I chose 1868 because its 100 years before I was born, no other special reason.

Dansco probably doesn't make an album for something like this but you might be able to get a custom job made up. Personally I would probably wait until I had all the coins and then have a custom Capital Plastics holder made for the set. (Third possibility is see if you can track down who has that original holder that was made up for the 1868 Aluminum proof set and see if he will sell it now that all the coins have been removed from the holder and put in slabs.)

Richard, you beat me 2 it! I couldn't find any pix of my 2 centers. Darn!

That 3CN picture is terrible...the coin actually has a great look in hand...oh well, so much for the scan.

I bought my first coin for this collection - a 1868 IHC. It should be here today since the seller said it was shipped Monday. I'll post pics when its here. I will store these in a flip until I figure out a Dansco storage solution. I probably looked at, watched auctions for 200 of these before settling on one in VG/F condition (based on seller communication/pics). Unfortunately - I do have a price limit/budget to follow. Deficit spending doesn't work in my house. LOL.
