Can anyone please tell me how to price coins for trade? I have surplus and want to trade for
some things I don't have, but I have no clue as to pricing. Does one use the Red Book,or advertised prices in pubs such as " Coin World" or some otherr source?
I would appreciate any help you can give.
Thanks,
Grendel

grendel,

For trades, you can use any guide you choose to value your offering. Just be sure to use the same source to value what is being offered in trade. In the end it's up to both parties to agree.

Trades normally leave both parties happy because you're both giving up something you don't want/need for something you desire. Finding the match is usually the hardest part. Good luck!

I used two guides, RedBook for retail prices, and greysheet for wholesale, and if I'm not sure on either price being accurate or within the norm, Numismedia.com.
