I picked up these four coins at the local show Sunday...

I believe this is a cameo, He is getting a bath and hopefully the haze and spots will be gone.

I have a freind that is great with giving proofs a quick acetone bath. You have to be very careful. Too long and they look bad.He has done a frw for me and they have come out wonderful. In fact this one looked almost like it when I picked it out of $8.00 proof set and then it came back like this.

Wouldn't a "bath" reduce it's value?

Not necessarily with acetone. Since it an organic solvent with a low flash point(evaporates quickly with no residue), it doesn't alter the metal in any way or leave any traces behind. Acetone will remove finger grease and things like that.

It will work well on gold and silver. I am not sure about nickel and I believe that it can darken copper.
