i was checking out my 1900-o and went down the entire list of vams and came up with vam-36, doubled 900, with heavy die polishes in the wreath bow

vam-42 says doubled lower right rev. on "AR" with doubling on wreath leaves too. which I think with my 30x luope I can see. let me know if you guys can see the same. also what would it be worth?

also, I noticed a lot of polishing on the in god we trust and some slight doubling, however nothing was mentioned about such details..thoughts?

VAM 36, note the diagonal line inside the bow ribbom. Not all scratches, cracks or other oddities are recorded on every VAM.

VAM 36 is a lock with the scratch/gouge in the bow, not VAM 42 does not have it, as Morgan said, not all minor things are listed as they by themselves will not attribute the VAM, however they can be used as die markers as such the scratch in the bow does sync to vam36...

Unfortunately, when cool coins are not included on the top 100 or hot 50 or 40 list, they don't tend to command premium prices, I don't have the lists to know if yours has been added, I couldn't guess the value, perhaps some one with the lists or the vamview guide could tell you more...

The VAMView price guide is provided semi-annually to SDDC (Society of Silver Dollar Collectors) members. You can get info on SSDC membership on the VAMWorld site.

The guide only provides recent sales info for all 1878 VAMs, Top 100, Hot 50 and Hitlist 40 VAMs. Your VAM 36 is not listed.

The only TPG that will currently slab and attribute all VAMs is ANACS. The only way to get past sales data would be a sale of an ANACs attributed coin (probably nothing out there).

When curious if a VAM has a premium, look at the "interest" index on the VAMWorld page for that VAM ... it's the "I" number followed by the rarity "R" number. A 4 or 5 interest usually means a premium.

SD, I dont know if you've tried this:

in your IE or Moz/Firefox browser, type in 1990 0 VAM

when I type any year with " VAM" after it, vamworld websites come up with Vamworld websites I dont know how to get to any other way.

first hit is this:

http://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt...fr=yfp-t-701

then I click on the very first link and get this:

http://www.vamworld.com/1900-O+VAMs

it rattles my brain each time because I realize VAMworlds primary VAM list is incomplete, to say the least

thanks everyone!

i most likely will not sell this as it was handed down from my grandma. I had this posted in the grading forum and people agreed it might get au-55.. I'm just pleased it is in great shape.
