Hey guys,

I will upload pictures later when I get home. But for now I was wondering if anyone can give me any information on these coins. First of all he has left me 100's of coins and stamps.

Three that seems rather interesting are these.

a 1398 penny, It looks like an armed soldier holding a pitchfork and a shield

other side is a large picture of a female and it says Victoria Dei Britt Regina Fid Dei Ind Def Ind Imp

1867-1967 confederation penny and some kind of gold coin that is rather heavy. Details on it are as follows.

15 pyeash 1897 P

other side - picture of a bearded man and it I cant really tell the letters because they look stylish

On the edge of the coin is some weird lettering all the way around the rim

Thanks!

Any information or back round is appreciated

The first coin comes from Great-Britain and has been issued in 1898. Queen Victoria has been queen of the United Kingdom from 1837 until 1901. She is depicted with a veil. Legends say: Victoria Dei Gra(tia) Britt(anniarum) Regina Fid(ei) Def(ensor) Ind(ium) Imp(eratorem) which means: Victoria, by the grace of God, queen of Britain, defender of the faith, empress of India.
On the other side you see a helmeted woman with a shield and a trident: she is an allegory for Britain and is called Brittannia

The 1867-1967 cent (I suppose with a dove) is Canadian and commemorates the centennial of the Canadian confederation.

The gold coin (which must weigh 12,9 grams to be real) is a coin of the Russian Empire. It must be 15 roubles. Depicted is the last czar of Russia: Nicholas II. The letters are in Cyrillic script

Since you corrected it to 1898, that would be Britannia- the British version of Lady Liberty and it is a trident, not a pitchfork.
Rest in Peace

Jennifer, you could start with <http://ukcoinpics.co.uk/qv/1d/index.html>, although this site might contain more info than you needed, or "TMI" as we say around here. Or just input "queen victoria coins" into your search engine and browse what pops up.
