Does anyone have any idea of when the release date of this year's 2010 American Buffalo coin will be?

According to the mint the date is yet to be determined.

*TIP: Buy them in the secondary market as the US Mint price is usually higher.

I hope they produce them. The mint's website says they will produce them this year, but who knows that could change.

If you are talking about the 1 ounce gold bullion coin, they expect to ship on May 7. APMEX has been taking pre-release orders for weeks now.

May 7th is the release date for the bullion coin. June 3rd is the release date for the proof coin. They are two separate coins.

Yes they are 2 different coins but the original post/title of the thread doesn't cleary identify which coin is being inquired about so both answers are equally valid and informative.

I think they'll be making a lot of them, they seem to be very popular with the public

Last year's proof had the second lowest mintage. I do think they will produce a lot for 2010, especially with the price of gold above $1200.
