Greetings;

From the USA, I've sold some coins via ebay to an Australian.

I quoted the USPS int'l envelope flat rate to the buyer (approx $25).

Buyer writes back to say I can send them USA to Australia via First-Class Mail® International Package for less than $10.

Two questions:

1. Is that right?
2. The First-Class Mail® International Package website says mailing coins to Australia is prohibited? Is that right?

thanks,

Jim

1. A priority mail flat rate envelope less than 4lbs would be About $12.65
If the package weighs less than 1 lb then first class international mail would be a few dollars.
2. Technically yes but but it applies to certain museum Quality coins not your average run of the mill Wheaties...I send Coins to AUS all the time just mark the Package hobby supplies I asked my postmaster on this and he said it was fine (But then again he is not the brightest spark)
I have had packages from AUS marked
Stamped metal discs
Hobby supplies
Loose Change
Numismatic Items.
