Here are two I picked up this week. Anyone care to hazard a guess?

First the 8TF Obverse
One-1878-8TF-And-One-7/8TF

The Reverse
One-1878-8TF-And-One-7/8TF

Now the 7/8TF Obverse
One-1878-8TF-And-One-7/8TF

Finally the 7/8TF Reverse
One-1878-8TF-And-One-7/8TF

First correct attribution for both coins gets a surprise.

I am so bad with 1878 type vams. John (Vampicker) told me to work on all the others first. LOL as the 78's are very hard to ID sometimes.

That's because John doesn't want you picking these! Not a 14.14 either. They really aren't that hard. You've got the reverse down and have eliminated three of the 10 with that reverse. That "unmistakable PUP" is pictured on the VAMWorld page. You get one more "guess". Don't waste it!

I have about 110 1878's that are under AU and I have a hard time with IDing them so I will wait to ID (THEM) But I will go out and buy as many of this type reverse as I can if the money is right!!

John lives about 100 miles south of me LOL

My goal is to collect every 1878-P and 1878-S VAM. I'm, over half way home, but the remaining road is very steep.

John's been a great help to me on the VAMWorld site (I use a different ID over there and I've followed your progress).

Now did you see that PUP yet?

Crud I thought I was seeing that to on the second try. And then gave it up 14.6 Nice VAM. If when I really start going over my 78's I find doubles I will let you know.
On the other side I know where I should be able to pick up about 15 of this reverse at around 22 to 25 bucks all under AU.

Just for grins guys try to stop into the Buying Gold and Silver joints that are popping up everywhere. They buy at scrap and if you take a good deal of coins they sell on the cheap sometimes.

And the best part!! Many coin hounds have never seen the ones you get.

SeatedNut what is truly scary is that since I came here to look up the first 2 coins (You helped me with) the 78 long nock Vam-54 and the 78 vam-12 I have never had so much fun. I thought I had bought alot of silver before, and I had. But now I look single items. I started as a kid, and had always figured I would go over them some day.
That day has come and now I wish I would of opened my eyes sooner!
